Operation Lunchbox

For many kids in Oregon, when the school year ends, so does a dependable source of healthy food. That’s why KOIN 6 and Partners for a Hunger Free Oregon want you to know about Operation Lunchbox. The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) provides the means for organizations to serve meals to low-income children during the summer when school is not in session. All menus are approved by the United States Department of Agricultural, and meet all federal nutritional standards. Meal sites are hosted at hundreds of locations in every county in Oregon, including parks, schools and churches.

KOIN 6, along with our sponsors Papa Murphy’s and The Safeway Foundation, are working together to get the word out about Operation Lunchbox – because watching out for Oregon’s hungry kids is Watching Out for us all.

Join KOIN 6 and Partners for a Hunger Free Oregon for the Operation Lunchbox kickoff, Wednesday June 25 from 11am – 1pm at Beaverton City Park!
