Suspect on the loose after armed bank robbery in Waldport

WALDPORT, Ore. (KOIN) — Authorities are searching for a suspect who fled on foot after robbing a Columbia Bank Friday night.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Ofice said the suspect entered the Waldport branch at 5:55 p.m. and showed employees a firearm while demanding money. Deputies said the suspect left the location with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Deputies responded to the area and secured the scene, but the suspect fled before authorities arrived and couldn’t be located.

The suspect is described as a white man, 25-35 years old, 6-feet-tall, 210 pounds with dark hair. The suspect was also wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the letter “D N Y F” in white, blue jeans, a blue or purple bandanna over his face and a blue latex glove on his right hand.
