PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singling loud for all to hear.

That’s what Buddy the Elf once said in the movie “Elf.” And though KOIN 6 News can’t confirm with Buddy that lip-syncing to Mariah Carey is also acceptable, the Portland Winterhawks are certainly using it as a way to get in the holiday spirit.

On Wednesday, the Winterhawks — Portland’s Western Hockey League team — released a video of the team lip-syncing to Carey’s hit song “All I want for Christmas is you.” The video features top NHL prospects Cody Glass (Vegas Golden Knights), Kieffer Bellows (New York Islanders), Henri Jokiharju (Chicago Blackhawks), Cole Kehler (LA Kings), as well as the rest of the roster.

The Winterhawks will next play at Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Saturday against the Spokane Chiefs.
