Police: Man robs 2 Tigard restaurants over weekend

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Tigard police are investigating 2 robberies on December 9 and 10 that investigators believe were done by the same suspect.

The first robbery happened on Saturday at the Elmer’s Restaurant on SW Pacific Highway around 6:55 p.m. Police said the man went into the lounge area of the restaurant and gave the employee a lottery payout ticket. Then the suspect pushed the employee to the floor and stole the till. That employee was minorly injured.

A witness saw the suspect leave in a car, police said.

Then on Sunday around 1:45 p.m., a man gave an employee of Gino’s Deli on Pacific Highway a lottery payout ticket before stealing the till and fleeing, police said.

The suspect is a man in his 20s with short, dark hair and glasses. He is of average height and weight.
