Two Portland fires extinguished at nearly the same time

One of the fires was 'wind driven'

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Fire and Rescue extinguished 2 different residential fires on Saturday, including one that was a “wind-driven” fire.

The fires, which sparked 11 minutes apart, happened before 6 p.m. on Southeast Center Street and Southwest 64th Avenue. No one was injured.

The fire in Southeast was “wind driven,” meaning it was accelerated by dry conditions and high wind.

The cause of both fires are still under investigation.
