PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Three Democrats from the Northwest have been named to the Conference Committee on the Republican Tax Plan.

Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), Ranking Member, Senate Committee on Finance and member of Senate Committees on Energy and Natural Resources and the Budget, Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Member of the Senate Committee on the Budget and Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Ranking Member Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and Member of the Senate Committee on Finance were named.

“The Republican track record shows that this will be a conference in name only while the real tax plan details are hammered out in secret without any Democratic input,” said Wyden. “Crafty lobbyists moved in the dark of night last week to stuff corporate goodies into Senate Republicans’ tax bill. This conference creates yet another opportunity for K Street to drive down taxes for wealthy clients at the expense of hardworking Americans.”

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer announced the Senate Democratic Conferees to the conference committee will also include:

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Ranking Member, Senate Committee on the Budget and member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources

Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Member of the Senate Committees on Finance, Energy and Natural Resources and the Budget

Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), Member of the Senate Committee on Finance

Senator Tom Carper (D-DE), Member of the Senate Committee on Finance
