PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — On June 8th, 1912, 50,000 people watched Silas Christofferson take off from the top of the 10-story Multnomah Hotel in downtown Portland.

He flew his plane 10 miles away to Vancouver, in what was perhaps the first interstate flight.

Now, a group of volunteers is working to build a replica of that plane to display in the Pearson Air Museum in Vancouver.
