Molalla man killed in icy car crash

Speed and icy conditions are believed to be a factor

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Molalla man was killed driving on Hwy 351 near Wallowa Lake after troopers said he veered across the highway and struck another driver.

Michael Paul Sprissler, 63, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was not injured. Speed and icy road conditions is believed to be a factor, according to Oregon State Police.

Troopers said the other car directly hit the Sprissler’s side of the car during the crash.

Hwy 351 was closed for 4 hours. Troopers said this is an ongoing investigation.
