PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Former Oregon State University head coach Mike Riley is returning as assistant coach.

Riley returns to OSU for the third time as the school’s all-time winningest head coach with 93 victories in stints from 1997-98 and 2003-14.

Riley’s position assignment has yet to be determined.

Head coach Jonathan Smith was appointed last month and is busy putting together his staff. Other new coaches include Jim Michalczik, Brian Lindgren, Jake Cookus, and Mike McDonald (strength and conditioning). Dan Van De Riet also returns to Corvallis in an administrative role.
