Teen driver seriously injured after crash with log truck

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A teen driver crashed a log truck Tuesday morning on Hwy 226 near Lyons when he veered into incoming traffic for “unknown reasons,” Oregon State Police said.

James Ismael Escobar Gunn, 17, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Troopers, in a press release, did not disclose any more details on Escobar Gun”s health. Orville Kenneth Tobey III, 52, the driver of the log truck, was treated for minor injuries.

Hwy 226 was completely closed for 2 hours at milepost 21.

Troopers said this is an ongoing investigation.
