December dry streak: No rain in 7-day forecast

Large ridge of high pressure will build over the Pacific Northwest

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Get ready for a dry streak!

There is no rain in the 7-day forecast, KOIN 6 News meteorologists report.

This week, a large ridge of high pressure will build over the Pacific Northwest and allow for clear skies and dry weather. This will likely last for the week, before any significant changes start to develop.

The last time PDX saw 10 consecutive days with less than 0.01″ of rain during the month of December was 2009.

Temperatures will be chilly to start each morning with potential for patchy frost and ice. Winds will also pick up Wednesday and Thursday, which will add a wind chill factor to the temperatures. Brr!

This likely means no fresh snow for the mountains, however.
