YACOULT, Wash. (KOIN) — If you’re still looking for a Christmas tree, there’s a unique experience waiting up in Clark County.

The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad is up and running north of Battle Ground. It’s a 2-hour round trip train ride aboard a 1917 passenger train that takes you through some beautiful scenery along the east fork of the Lewis River.

“We go down the track about six miles — we’ll come back to our station in Moulton where you pick out your tree — hot chocolate, apple cider, coffee, cookies and a big guy in a red suit,” Randy Williams says.

You pick out a tree, tag it and put it onto a flat rail car for a trip back to the parking lot. The train makes three runs a day on Saturday and Sunday from Yacolt.
