PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Nineteen years ago, Alex was a 4-year-old girl who needed a forever home. She was a Wednesday’s Child.

David and Sonja watched that Wednesday’s Child episode and adopted Alex — who now goes by Ali — into their family. Their big question was would she bond with their 2 biological sons?

There was an adjustment period. But one day when she was 9, something happened and it all clicked.

Ali now says being adopted changed her life.

Now 23, Ali is working in an attorney’s office in Arizona and her future is being shaped by what she experienced as a child. She would like to become an attorney specializing in adoption law.

And as for having children of her own one day?

“I definitely would like to adopt,” Ali said. “It’s really, really important.”
