Clark County Animal Protection & Control said the pony was found near the Ross Store. State and Vancouver police as well as animal protection officers all helped get the pony out of the road without injury.

Paul Scarpelli with Clark County Animal Protection & Control said, “We don’t know from what direction or if it got out of somebody’s vehicle that was just temporarily in the area.”

Scarpelli confirmed Wednesday that the pony — named Trigger — was successfully reunited with his owners Tuesday night.

According to Scarpelli, the little girl and her mother were so excited to see Trigger.

He also reminded people to make sure your gate is well posted explaining that should one pass through it, they understand the need to close it behind them.
