PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Police in Lebanon evacuated a Walmart store after reports of a pipe bomb inside early Thursday morning.

Officials said the evacuation of the store at 3290 S Santiam Hwy was only precautionary.

An Oregon State Police bomb squad removed the suspicious device and determined it was a confetti pop fireworks with the wrapper torn off.

Officers checked the surrounding area and didn’t find anything else suspicious. They determined the area was safe.

The Walmart store has reopened to the public.
