Police rescue woman, child from domestic violence situation

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Police rescued a woman and a child from a North Portland home on Tuesday night after receiving reports of an armed man assaulting a woman inside of a home.

Portland Police Bureau’s Special Emergency Reaction Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were sent to the home in the 9600 block of N Fiske Avenue around 9:15 p.m.

Officers negotiated with 29-year-old Gregory Brown Jr. on the phone until he eventually left the house and was arrested. The woman was treated for injuries.

Brown Jr. is charged with assault in the fourth degree.

Detectives investigating are also asking for anyone with information about a disturbance involving a black Ford Explorer in the area of North Woolsey Avenue and North Trenton Street at 9:02 p.m. Tuesday contact Detective Andrew Griggs at 503-823-0969 or Andrew.Griggs@portlandoregon.gov.
