PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Oneonta Gorge is closed until further notice because flash flood conditions destabilized the upper canyon, the USDA Forest Service said on their website.

Rock, fallen trees and debris were moved from the upper canyon, causing officials to close the area.

Authorities will re-assess how stable the upper part of the slot canyon is before re-opening.
