1 hurt, several displaced by SW Portland fire

One person has serious injuries after jumping from a 2nd floor window

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Investigators are working to determine the cause of a 2-alarm fire at an apartment complex near SW 45th Ave and Multnomah Blvd. in SW Portland.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire shortly before 3 p.m. There was heavy damage to the second floor of the building.

A woman and her kids were in the apartment where the fires started but were able to get out safely with no injuries. Six or seven adults and 2 children have been displaced, but are getting help from the Red Cross, according to Portland Fire and Rescue.

One man jumped from a second floor window and was taken to OHSU for treatment of serious injuries.
