LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman was hit by a car and killed in Lake Oswego Thursday afternoon.

The pedestrian, 66-year-old Louise Fay Marandas, was hit on 3rd Street and B Ave. She was crossing at an unmarked crosswalk but all intersections are considered crosswalks whether they are marked or not.

The car hit Marandas and drove over her slowly, police said. The speed was estimated at 5-10 mph based on the lack of impact marks on the car.

The driver, an 84-year-old man, stayed on the scene. He said he didn’t see her because the sun was in his eyes. No charges or citations have been issued.

Medical responders arrived immediately because the incident happened in front of the Lake Oswego Fire Station but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
