SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — The autopsy on a 32-year-old man who crashed into a tree revealed he was stabbed to death, and Salem police arrested a Keizer man in connection.

On November 28, Salem police found Andrew Ramon inside a Chevy Trail Blazer that hit a tree at Liberty Street and Superior Street. No other cars were at the scene, and the Gervais resident was already dead.

Once the autopsy determined Ramon had been stabbed to death, investigators pieced together his final hours.

Salem police said Ramon and Darnell Edward Harris were in an “altercation” the night before. Ramon later crashed his SUV and Harris, police said, arrived at the scene and stabbed Ramon to death.

Harris, 26, was found and arrested on November 30. He now faces charges of murder, 2 counts of tampering with a witness and unlawful use of a weapon.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Corporal Jeff Keniston at 503.588.6050 extension 7163.
