GRESHAM, Ore. (KOIN) – When police stopped a Radio Cab driver on suspicion of reckless driving, they found an open container of beer in his car, officials confirmed.

Norman Lee Haselton, 51, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on Sunday morning after being stopped near Southeast Stark and 162nd. He was initially charged with DUII and reckless driving.

A police spokesperson said when Haselton was arrested, officers found an open 40 ounce container of beer with him while driving.

There were no passengers with Haselton at the time of his arrest, according to police.

On Monday, the DA’s Office reviewed the case and filed criminal citations for violating the speed limit and having an open container.

Police said their investigation remains ongoing.

A spokesperson for Radio Cab did not get immediately get back to KOIN 6 News for comment.
