TUALATIN, Ore. (KOIN) — A 16-year-old boy was arrested after he allegedly robbed a woman at knifepoint Sunday night, police said.

Officers received reports of the armed robbery on a walking path between Cabela’s and the Heron’s Landing Apartments on SW Boones Ferry Road around 9 p.m., Tualatin Police Dept. said.

A woman told officers she was walking towards the apartment complex when a 16-year-old Hispanic boy approached her with a knife and demanded her bags.

Other people reportedly witnessed the incident and the boy ran off without the bags.

A Washington County Sheriff’s K9 helped locate the boy who was taken into custody without incident, police said.

He was booked into Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center on charges of first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault.
