Teen driver who hit patrol car cited for DUII

The 18-year-old driver caused significant damage to both cars

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A teenage driver hit a parked police car Friday night, causing significant damage to both cars.

The marked police car was stopped, with its lights on and blocking Sandy Blvd. The officer was investigating another crash.

Damian Begay, 18, failed to stop and hit the patrol car. According to police, he was likely speeding.

Begay was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries and cited for DUII and reckless driving, police said.
