TIGARD, Ore. (KOIN) — A 60-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a car trying to cross Pacific Highway West in Tigard around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

Witnesses told police the man, 70-year-old Howard Hooker, was hit by a northbound vehicle near 65th Avenue.

Rain was falling at the time, police said.

The driver stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, police said. No citations were issued.
