PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland is known for its creative talent, and one of the most creative visual artists around is helping to give the city a world-class reputation.

His name is Julian Wilde, and his wild vision is a big part of where we live.

Wilde’s elaborate studio is in Vancouver, but he calls Portland home.

“If you look at my stuff, you’re never going to think– ‘Oh I bet that’s in Portland, Oregon,’” Wilde said.

The results are spectacular, making Wilde one of the most sought after photographers-anywhere.

His studio, shades of Paris, Rome, Game of Thrones and a multi-million dollar mansion, takes set design to another level.

“Because of the fact that I get photographers coming across the country, I get models coming from across the country. So, being the best photographer in Portland, Oregon- that wouldn’t be enough,” he said.

Originally from Canada, Wilde’s love affair with Portland began years ago.

He was traveling to San Francisco when he saw what’s now the Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom in downtown Portland.

He took it over for several years, naming it after his then-girlfriend, model Adrianna Hill.

“Between the ballroom and Adrianna, there was good reason to come to Portland, and that’s why I’m here,” said Wilde.

His sets give Wilde’s work a signature feel. He occasionally shoots musicians or cars, but that’s not what drives him.

“I would much rather shoot my shot, and if there are people who enjoy that, fantastic,” he said.

Wilde said there’s world class talent in the Pacific Northwest. He’s looking for a way for people to learn creativity doesn’t stop in New York or Los Angeles.

Some of Wilde’s work is pretty risqué, but those interested can find it on him on Facebook here.
