BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — A 37-year-old pregnant woman died after being hit by a car that mistakenly backed up and pushed her through a glass window of a business.

Beaverton Police identified the woman was Elena Velasquez-Pelico of Beaverton.

The crash at 4265 SW Cedar Hills Boulevard happened around 1:45 p.m., Beaverton police spokesperson Mike Rowe said. The driver had the car in reverse when she tried to pull out of a parking lot.

Instead, the car crossed the sidewalk and hit Velasquez-Pelico, pushing her through the window.

She was taken to a local hospital and later died.
