Police eventually took Luther into custody after he exited the vehicle and ran from them on foot. He was shot in the process.

When police checked the van that Luther was shooting from, they took his wife into custody. There were three children inside the car. None of the children were hurt.

Police said their investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
