Police arrest 6 protesters from masked group

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Protesters in masks blocked traffic and MAX trains in NE Portland Saturday evening.

The group gathered around 5 p.m. for the Million Mask March, a protest of “government corruption, abuse of power and corporate influence in government.”

The Facebook description for the event said: “We take to the streets this November 5th to voice our anger. We wear masks not to hide ourselves but to show solidarity with each other, not as individuals, but as an anonymous, collective movement.”

Members of the group wore Anonymous masks, styled in the likeness of Guy Fawkes.

The protesters blocked traffic on I-5 in SE Portland and other areas downtown. Police were focused on preventing crashes between drivers and protesters.

Portland Police made 6 arrests during the protest. Additional arrests may be made later.

Roger West, 51, was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.
Kristopher Moore, 26, was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.
James Krane, 30, was arrested for disorderly conduct and interfering with a peace officer.
Paul Schmitke, 25, was arrested for disorderly conduct and interfering with a peace officer.
David Kif Davis, 46, was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.
Linda Senn, 42, was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.
