The University of Oregon police department arrested Eddie Lamont Heard, 22, according to records. He is charged with assault in the 4th degree and harassment in the first degree.

Documents say Heard was arrested after an incident with a woman at Taylor’s Bar and Grill between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Sunday. He reportedly slapped her and she pushed him. They had another altercation on 13th Avenue and Kincaid Street, where he reportedly punched her.

Multiple witnesses saw the alleged incident, documents say.

UO football coach Mark Helfrich made a statement about Heard, saying “Eddie Heard has been suspended indefinitely. We will take appropriate action as details develop.”

It is unclear what incident the charges stem from.
