WASHINGTON CO., Ore. (KOIN) — A man accused of robbing a Portland motel at gunpoint and shooting at officers during a pursuit was released from the hospital Sunday and taken to jail, officials said.

Josh Luther, 37, was booked into Washington County Jail and charged with attempted aggravated murder.

Luther’s wife, Michelle, and 3 children were with him as he allegedly fled from the scene of the robbery, led police on a chase through multiple cities and shot at officers from the van he was in.

Eventually, the van stopped at SW Boones Ferry Road and Jean Way and Luther took off on foot, according to police. He was shot by Tigard police officer Andrew Pastore who was placed on standard administrative leave during the investigation.

Luther was taken to OHSU for treatment of his gunshot wound.

His wife, who was reportedly driving the van, was taken into custody and also faces an attempted aggravated murder charge, according to Tigard Police Dept.
