Construction crew hits gas pipe in NE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A construction crew cut a 1-inch pipe in Northeast Portland, sending natural gas into a building and blocking traffic.

The incident happened at 2250 NE Glisan. Portland firefighters and NW Natural crews rushed to the scene. The leak was clamped not long after the crews arrived.

Businesses in the area were evacuated for a short time but were allowed back before 4 p.m.
