Phil Knight donates $500M for UO science center

The donation will be used to establish the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Nike co-founder Phil Knight and his wife Penny have donated $500 million to the University of Oregon for a science center.

The donation will be used to establish the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact. The Knight Campus will house scientists and be used for teaching to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Phil Knight graduated from the University of Oregon in 1959.
