PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 4-year-old is dead after a crash in Lane County Tuesday morning on Cottage Grove Loraine Hwy.

A 23-year-old Eugene mom was driving with her kids, ages 6, 4 and 2-years-old when she lost control of her Ford Explorer on a curve and drifted onto the shoulder.

The car rolled over and about 30 feet down the mountain.

Police say there is no evidence that speed, distraction or alcohol were factors in the crash. The children were all correctly buckled in but it is unknown if the driver was.

The 4-year-old child, seated in the back passenger seat, died from their injuries. The other children and driver have minor injuries.

Oregon State Police are investigating the crash.

Oregon State Police previously reported the youngest child had died.
