Milwaukie Market employee's 5-year-old daughter hid in store during robbery

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An armed robber hit a Portland store employee in the face with a gun Sunday and took off with an unknown amount of cash, police said.

The robbery happened around 2:40 p.m. at Milwaukie Market on the 4400 block o SE Milwaukie Avenue, according to Portland Police Bureau.

The victim reportedly told police 2 men came into the market and ordered him to get on the floor. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun, which he used to hit the victim in the face, police said.

The suspects fled after taking an undisclosed amount of money.

The victim’s 5-year-old daughter was in the store at the time, but was able to hide from the robbers. She wasn’t injured during the incident, police said.

Officers searched the area but didn’t locate the suspects. They are described as African American men in their late teens, 5’7″ tall with black hats and shirts. The suspect with the gun was wearing silver or gray pants, police said. The other man was wearing blue pants.
