PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Police are investigating reports of shots fired in the Kerns neighborhood early Friday morning.

The call of shots fired came in around 2:48 a.m. Friday in the area of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Northeast Couch Street.

Officers on scene said their initial investigation did not turn up any gunshot victims. They were in the process of canvassing the area to see if any property was damaged by the shooting.

Police later confirmed that a traffic stop on the ramp that leads from I-84 eastbound to I-205 southbound is likely connected to the shooting investigation that happened in Northeast Portland. Specific details have not been released.

ODOT told KOIN 6 News that the ramp was closed for “police activity.” The ramp re-opened around 4:15 a.m. Friday.

Officers did not know how many people had been detained.
