PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An intoxicated driver was arrested Saturday after crashing his car into a tree.
Investigators determined based on evidence at the scene that the driver, 25-year-old Thomas Keil, was speeding east on Ridgewood Drive when he lost control on a curve and hit a tree.
A rear passenger, 24-year-old Leo Burby suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. There were 2 other passengers who did not have serious injuries.
Portland Police said Keil was under the influence of marijuana and alcohol when the crash happened. He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of assault, driving under the influence, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person.
