PPS could face lawsuit over assault of student

The girl was 7-years-old at the time of the alleged abuse

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The mother of a student at Whitman Elementary may seek damages from Portland Public Schools for the alleged sexual abuse of their daughter.

Brent Christy-Hamilton, a former paraeducator at the school, was arrested in July on 2 charges of sexual abuse in the first degree.

The torte notice sent to PPS claims the 7-year-old girl was “sexually abused assaulted, battered and falsely imprisoned on two separate occasions by PSS employee Brent Christ-Hamilton.” The abuse is said to have happened in November 2015.

The notice claims the victim has claims for damages against PPS and the suspect.
