MILWAUKIE, Ore. (KOIN) — Three people were hospitalized, one in critical condition, after a fire in Milwaukie on Sunday morning.

At 5:29 a.m., fire officials were called to the 6500 block of Hemlock Street due to a home that was on fire. One of the people in the home made it out, went to a neighbor’s house and called 911.

When firefighters arrived, the 1,200 square foot home had fire coming out of 3 sides. They then learned it was possible one individual was still inside the home, according to a spokesman for Clackamas Fire District 1.

A rescue team went in and found the individual inside a back bedroom. The fire victim was brought out of the home and taken to a hospital in critical condition, the spokesman said. Two others were also hospitalized.

By 5:40 a.m., the fire was under control. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
