VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN) — One person was killed when a train crashed with a car along Evergreen Highway Sunday night, emergency responders said.

The crash happened in a rural area along SR-14, not far from the Columbia River.

The Ford Mustang was pushed nearly half a mile before it stopped, officials told KOIN 6 News. The crossing where the crash happened doesn’t have flashing lights or barriers to stop traffic when a train is crossing.

Investigators haven’t released the victim’s name.

KOIN 6 News will have more information as it becomes available.
