NEWBERG, Ore. (KOIN) — A man wanted for multiple robberies in Washington County surrendered after a 6-hour standoff in a Newberg mobile home park Saturday night.

Dale William Martineau, hiding in a trailer at the Chehalem Mobile Park in Newberg, was surrounded by deputies from both Washington and Yamhill counties. Residents in the immediate vicinity were evacuated as a precaution, but the 55-year-old refused to come out, Newberg-Dundee police officials said.

An Oregon State Police SWAT team came to the scene and helped get Martineau into custody sometime after midnight. Officers from both Tualatin and Beaverton also arrived to help.

Martineau is being held without bail on multiple charges at the Yamhill County Jail.
