PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 36-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon, the day after a man was found dead in a car in NE Portland, police said.
Police were initially called to the area of NE 105th Avenue and Sandy Boulevard around 10:15 p.m. Saturday on reports of a drive-by shooting.
Officers arrived on the scene but didn’t find any victims or witnesses.
An unknown tipster led them to NE 111th Avenue and Fargo Street where Martin Richard Ochoa, 25, was found dead in a car, police said.
Ochoa reportedly died of a single stab wound.
Kelby Blaine Jake was arrested Sunday afternoon and booked into Multnomah County Jail on a murder charge related to Ochoa’s stabbing death, police said.
The suspect and victim in the case were allegedly known to each other.
Jake is expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Multnomah County Court.
