ELSIE, Ore. (KOIN) — A log truck crashed and overturned after hitting the back of a tow truck on Hwy 22 Thursday morning just outside Elsie.

The log truck driver, John Budge, 55, was passing the Elderberry Inn Restaurant when he hit the back of the tow truck, driven by 72-year-old Fred Miller. The log truck left the road, hit an embankment and rolled over, causing the logs to fall out onto the road.

Oregon State Police Troopers from the Fish and Wildlife Division, who were at the restaurant, quickly responded and helped Budge, who was trapped and injured. Budge was flown to OHSU with serious injuries.

Miller had only minor injuries.
