PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A motorcyclist crashed on Northeast Lloyd, hit a tree and died early Friday morning, and a second motorcyclist was detained for impaired driving.

A person called Portland police sometime before the crash around 12:45 a.m. to report a group of motorcycles racing in the area through the Lloyd District.

When the crash was reported, officers arrived and found Jonathan David Albee on the ground. The 24-year-old Oregon City resident died at the scene.

His name has not been released, and it’s not clear what caused the crash.

The other motorcyclist, 30-year-old Anthony Michael Moore of Happy Valley, was cited for DUII and given a ride home by police.

Friday’s crash marks the 29th traffic fatality in the City of Portland in 2016.
