Fire burns 7 acres of field in Cornelius

Firefighters put the flames out in about an hour

CORNELIUS, Ore. (KOIN) — A brush fire burned 7 acres of a field on Verboort Road in Cornelius Friday afternoon.

The fire started in one field, jumping Verboort Road into another due to wind. Fire fighters were able to extinguish the flames in about an hour.

Crews think the fire was started by farm equipment. No structures were damaged and there were no injuries.
