Teen injured in 45-foot jump at Lava Canyon Falls

The 18-year-old jumped from a cliff about 45 feet above the water

SKAMANIA COUNTY, Wash. (KOIN) — A teenager from Seattle was knocked unconscious when she jumped from a cliff at Lava Canyon Falls.

The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office said Tatiyana Winge was with 4 friends at Lava Canyon Falls when she jumped from a cliff on the lower falls, about 45 feet above the water.

She landed feet-first, but the impact of her head on the water knocked her unconscious. Witnesses found her face down in the water and provided first aid until EMS arrived.

Winge was roped to the Lower Falls Campground and transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
