Bybee Fire closes part of Pacific Crest Trail

LAKEVIEW, Ore. (KOIN) — A portion of the Pacific Crest Trail is closed by a fire burning on the west side of Crater Lake National Park.

The Bybee Fire was found Thursday afternoon near the junction of the Lightning Springs Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail, the South Central Oregon Fire Management Partnership said.

Crater Lake National Park remains open.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
