CORNELIUS, Ore. (KOIN) — A 22-year-old Beaverton man faces multiple charges after a Saturday night crash that seriously injured one of his passengers.

Randy Lopez-Perez allegedly was driving a Toyota too fast when he didn’t handle a curve in the 34000 block of SW Riedweg Road in Cornelius around 7:30 p.m. The car rolled down a ravine and seriously injured Jesse Tarpley. The 23-year-old Cornelius resident was taken to OHSU for treatment of his injuries, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.

Lopez-Perez and another passenger flagged down a passing car for help. The investigation into the crash continues.

Lopez-Perez is charged with DUII, 3rd-degree assault, reckless driving and reckless endangering.
