Man shot near Springwater Corridor, 1 detained

Witnesses: One person was shot, taken to the hospital

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A shooting in the city’s Kendall neighborhood near the Springwater Corridor on Tuesday morning left one man hospitalized and another in jail.

The shooting was reported around 3 a.m. in the area of Southeast Crystal Springs Blvd. and Southeast 82nd Ave.

Police have dispatched two K-9 units to the scene, according to computer dispatch logs monitored by media.

Police spokesperson Sgt. Pete Simpson said officers responded and located a 48-year-old man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a Portland hospital for treatment. According to Simpson, the victim and suspect both reside along the Springwater Trail.

Scott Norman Adams was arrested and faces a 1st-degree assault charge as well as probation violation.
