Grass fire burns 300 acres in The Dalles

THE DALLES, Ore. (KOIN) —  A grass fire that began Sunday evening in The Dalles has grown to 300 acres and forced one home and a migrant worker camp to evacuate. More mandatory evacuations are expected later Monday morning.

Firefighters from multiple agencies helped fight the fire between Cherry Heights Road and Mill Creek Road, Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue said.

At this time, no buildings have been burned, but more than two dozen are threatened. A crew of 75 firefighters is battling to contain the blaze.
