Three survive serious crash in Yamhill County

YAMHILL COUNTY, Ore. (KOIN) — Three people survived a high-speed crash without serious injuries early Friday morning on Hwy 221.

According to Oregon State Troopers, an Audi sedan carrying 3 people was speeding north on Hwy 221 when the driver lost control and went off the road. The car went about 600 feet along the ditch, striking a tree, power pole and highway sign and eventually rolling several times into the middle of the road.

The driver and 2 passengers were taking to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver, Jonathan Alcantara Romero, 25, was arrested on charges of DUII, assault, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and reckless driving. He was taken to the Yamhill County Jail, police said.

Oregon State Police, ODOT and the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Department are continuing to investigate the crash.
